USDA Extends Some Specialty Crops Audit Certifications

December 11, 2020

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is extending 320 specialty crops audit certifications that are scheduled to expire on various dates between now and Feb. 28, 2021, to all expire March 1, 2021. The audit extension will support market access for fruit and vegetable producers.

The certification extension applies to fruit and vegetable producers who currently are certified under the USDA Good Agricultural Practices and Plant Systems Audit programs.

The extension is in alignment with the International Accreditation Forum and Global Food Safety Initiative guidance.

USDA is committed to continuing to deliver services needed to facilitate the movement of America’s food supply during the national emergency.
