Demand was moderate to good for calves and good to very good on heavy yearling offerings, light to moderate demand for cow/calf pairs. Several ranchers continue to cut their herd size due to the short grass in some areas of the state and very limited supply of feed on hand. Most of the pairs that returned the country were “young” with nice big calves at side. Most cows displayed light to medium flesh. Large number of slaughter cows and bulls keep finding their way to town. Supply included 75 percent feeder cattle with the balance on cows and bulls. Feeder supply included 52 percent steers, 46 percent heifers; balance on bull calves with 91 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
