Extra charges for delivery to terminal markets, multi-pickup and multi-drop shipments are not included unless otherwise stated. Rates are based on the most usual loads in 48-53 foot refrigerated trailers from the origin shipping area to the destination receiving city. The ten cities of destination are Atlanta, Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland; Boston, Massachusetts; Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Miami, Florida; New York, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Seattle, Washington. A shortage of trucks was reported for the following commodities and regions: peppers, corn, beans, eggplant, watermelons and cantaloups from Imperial & Coachella Valley California, carrots and potatoes from Kern District California, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, romaine, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries from Salinas-Watsonville California, broccoli, cauliflower, iceberg lettuce, romaine, leaf lettuce and strawberries from Santa Maria California, potatoes from San Luis Valley Colorado and Florida, sweet potatoes from Eastern North Carolina, onions from Southern New Mexico, watermelons from Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas and mangoes, onions, limes, plum tomatoes, carrots, mixed fruits and vegetables from Mexico Crossings through Texas. A slight shortage of trucks was reported for the following commodities and regions: grapes from Imperial Valley California, apricots, nectarines, peaches and plums from San Joaquin Valley California, raspberries, avocadoes and citrus from South District, tomatoes, mixed vegetables, melons from Central & South Florida as well as Central and North Florida, potatoes from Upper Valley, Twin Falls-Burley District Idaho, sweet potatoes from Louisiana and Mississippi. South Georgia reported trucks barely adequate for bell peppers, blueberries, cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, peaches and squash. FIRST REPORT was issued for tomatoes, mixed vegetables and melons from Central and North Florida, onions from Southern New Mexico.
