Weekly Feeder Cattle Summary w/e July 4, 2009

     Feeder steers and heifers not well tested at Wyoming auctions this week.
Direct trading very slow this week.  Demand light to moderate. No recent price 
comparison available.  Buyer inquiry light to moderate for light offerings.  
Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2-3 percent shrink 
or equivalent, and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and 3-6 cent slide on 
yearlings from base weight.  Steers made up approximately 19 percent of the 
total receipts, heifers 81 percent.  Offerings over 600 lbs totaled 83 percent.  
Direct sales accounted for 600 head of the total receipts. 

   Steers - Auctions: Medium-Large 1 442 lbs 125.00; 541 lbs 117.00; 647-699 lbs 
99.50-104.00; 855 lbs 95.25; 903-951 lbs 84.75-85.00.  Medium and Large 1-2  408 
lbs 121.00; 693 99.00; 832-853 91.00-95.50.  Feeder Bulls Medium and Large 1 762 
87.00; 847 82.50.  Direct: Medium-Large 1 FOB Price no sales reported.

   Heifers - Auctions: Medium-Large 1 435 lbs 107.00; 542 lbs 93.50; 661 lbs 
89.00.  Medium and Large 1-2 499 lbs 96.00; 595 lbs 96.50.  Direct: Medium-Large 
1 FOB Price 790 lbs 92.00.
