Weekly Feeder Cattle Summary w/e February 6, 2010

   Compared to last week at Wyoming auctions steer and heifer calves under 700 
lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher, weighted over 700 lbs mostly steady. Demand 
good.  Overall quality average to good.  Direct trade slow.  Steers sold steady 
to 1.00 lower, heifers 2.00 higher.  Demand light to moderate for light to 
moderate offerings. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 
2-3 percent shrink or equivalent, and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and 3-6 
cent slide on yearlings from base weight. Steers made up approximately 63 
percent of the total receipts, heifers 37 percent. Offerings over 600 lbs 
totaled 54 percent.  Direct sales accounted for 2110 head of the total receipts.
