Weekly Feeder Cattle Summary w/e December 31, 2011

  No feeder cattle auctions this week due to the holidays.  Wyoming, western 
Nebraska, western North and South Dakota direct trade very slow this week. No 
good price comparison available.  Demand moderate for light offerings.  Unless 
otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2-3 percent shrink or 
equivalent, and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and 3-6 cent slide on yearlings 
from base weight.  Steers made up approximately 83 percent of the total 
receipts, heifers 17 percent. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled 100 percent. 
Direct sales accounted for 410 head of the total receipts. 

   Steers - Auctions: Medium-Large 1 none.   Direct: Medium-Large 1 FOB Price: 
725-800 lbs 138.00-141.50.  Delivered Price None.

   Heifers - Auctions: Medium-Large 1 none. Direct: Medium-Large 1 FOB Price: 
750 lbs 133.00.  Delivered Price None.
