Wyoming, Western Nebraska, and Western South Dakota Weekly Hay Summary
w/e July 5, 2008

     Trade and movement remain light.  Demand moderate to good.  First cutting 
hay production has started in some areas, while some completed this past week.  
All prices dollars per ton FOB stack in medium to large square bales and 
rounds, unless otherwise noted.  Horse hay in small squares.  Prices are from 
the most recent reported sales.

      Eastern Wyoming
New Crop Alfalfa: contract 119.00 plus .70 per point over 170 RFV; large squares 
85.00-90.00; Good 150.00, ground and delivered 125.00-130.00.  Dehydrated 
Alfalfa Pellets (17 percent protein) 179.00 delivered wholesale.

   Central and Western Wyoming 
New Crop Alfalfa: contract first and second cuttings 95.00-130.00, 85.00 in 
windrow, 75.00-80.00 standing in the field; Premium 130.00-145.00.  Alfalfa 
Cubes 130.00-160.00.

   Western Nebraska
New Crop Alfalfa: Supreme 150.00-180.00; Premium small squares 140.00; Good 
110.00-120.00; Fair 100.00-110.00; ground and delivered 105.00-130.00.

   Western South Dakota
New Crop Alfalfa: contract 75.00-100.00; 135.00 delivered; Premium 85.00.  
Alfalfa/Grass 3x3 for horses 95.00.  Alfalfa/Grass haylage 24.00/ton.
