For the week so far, negotiated cash sales per MPR were as follows: TX/OK/NM - 12,560; Kansas - 26,805; Nebraska - 35,775 and Colorado - 7,286. Live sales in the Southern Plains this week so far sold at 87.00-88.00, while Northern Plains live sales were at 85.00-87.00. Dressed sales in Kansas were traded at 140.00, and Nebraska dressed sales mostly were at 134.00. Boxed beef cutout values weak on light to moderate demand and moderate to heavy offerings. Choice cutout closed down .55 at 140.78 and Select closed down .32 at 135.44 with 218 total loads sold. Estimated cattle slaughter for Friday was reported at 124,000 head and 21,000 for Saturday. The hide and offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 8.99 per cwt live, up 0.32 when compared to Thursday's value. Note: prices are based on net weights FOB the feedlot after a 3-4% shrink unless otherwise noted. Dressed prices based on hot carcass weights delivered to the plant.
