Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:30 PM

   Trading was inactive in all feeding regions on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon 
boxed beef cutout values firm on moderate demand and offerings. Select and 
Choice chuck, round, and loin items steady to firm while rib cuts steady to 
weak. Choice cutout closed the day up .54 at 139.19 and Select was up .36 at 
136.80 with 313 total loads sold. CME February live cattle closed the day up 
1.07 at 88.75. Estimated cattle slaughter for Tuesday was reported at 126,000. 
The hide and offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated 
at 9.64 per cwt live, up 0.04 when compared to Monday's value.

Note: prices are based on net weights FOB the feedlot after a 3-4% shrink
unless otherwise noted. Dressed prices based on hot carcass weights delivered
to the plant.

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and 
more frequently during active trading periods.
