Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 4:50 PM

Today’s Reported Sales Volume:   8,000
Today’s Estimated Sales Volume: 13,000

  Trading was light in the Texas Panhandle on light to moderate demand.
Compared to last week, early live sales have traded steady at 84.00.
Several sellers are passing current bids. Trading and demand was light in 
Kansas. Live sales are trending steady with last week at 83.00. 
Trading remains inactive in all other areas on light to moderate buyer inquiry.
  Boxed beef cutout values firm to higher on light to moderate demand and 
offerings.   Choice cutouts closed up 1.21 at 140.69 while Select cutouts
closed up .50 at 132.69 on 239 total loads reported.  Estimated Daily
Cattle Slaughter for Tuesday reported at 126,000.

  Note: prices are based on net weights FOB the feedlot after a 3-4% shrink
unless otherwise noted. Dressed prices based on hot carcass weights delivered
to the plant.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating 
on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and 
more frequently during active trading periods.
