Feeder Cattle Auction Mid-Session and Close for 06/19/2013

   Compared to the last adequate test which was two weeks ago, a good run of 
yearling feeder steers weighing over 800 lbs sold fully 5.00 higher.  Lighter-
weight yearling steers and heifers weighing from 600-800 lbs traded steady to 
firm, although with fairly wide price spreads depending on flesh and weighing 
condition.  Calf prices were unevenly steady to weak with instances as much as 
3.00 lower.  Overall, feeder demand was progressively stronger as weights grew 
heavier with buyers definitely wanting yearlings and not just weaned calves.  
Supply included 65 percent steers, 32 percent heifers, and 3 percent feeder 
bulls.  Around 61 percent over 600 lbs.
