Feeder Cattle and Calf Auction  03/20/02

Receipts est. 869    last week 3602  last year 5858

    Compared to last week   steers, heifers and holstein steers sold
stead to weak. Most of the weakness was on the plain and fleshy 
offerings. Receipts were very light with lots of singles and pairs
offered for to sell. Last week's disease scare and lower fat market
took some of the wind out of the orders. However the disease scare in 
Kansas proved to be false and reported prematurely before all the facts
were gathered. Steers made up approximately 63 percent of the run.
Holstein steers 16 percent and heifers 21 percent. Offerings over 600
lbs totaled around 70 percent.

few 600-650 lbs 91.00-96.50; several 700-750 lbs 80.00-82.00; pkg 859 
lbs 71.50.
