SF_LS769 Sioux Falls, SD Mon May 13, 2013 USDA-SD Dept of Ag Market News Sioux Falls Regional - Worthing, SD Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/13/2013 Receipts: 1357 Last Week: 3046 Last Year: 226 Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 650 lbs were lightly tested but sold mostly steady, 650-800 lbs steady to 3.00 lower instances of 6.00 lower on 700-750 lbs on a narrow comparison, 800-850 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, over 900 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 650 lbs mostly steady, 650-850 lbs steady to 4.00 lower. Moderate demand today for cattle in all flesh conditions. Very sparse crowd today, with many farmers in the field planting. Cattle were mostly average quality. Slaughter cows mostly steady, bulls had no comparison to Wednesday's test. The feeder cattle run was made up of 63 percent steers, 29 percent heifers, 5 percent Holsteins, balance bulls; 91 percent of the feeder cattle offered today weighed over 600 lbs. Offerings consisted of 88 percent feeder cattle, balance slaughter cows and bulls.
