SF_LS759 Sioux Falls, SD Tue Nov 17, 2009 USDA-SD Dept Ag Market News Philip Livestock Auction - Philip, SD Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/17/2009 Receipts: 2524 Last Week: 6288 Year Ago: 3370 Compared to last week: No recent comparison on replacement cattle, however a lower undertone noted. Several consignments of reputation replacement cattle on offer with best demand for 3-4 yr old bred cows. Slaughter cows and bulls had no recent test, therefore an accurate trend was not possible. Demand moderate to good for all classes. Today's supply consisted of 31 slaughter cows and bulls and the balance replacement cattle. Replacement cattle were comprised of approximately 30 percent bred heifers, 35 percent young bred cows, 15 percent middle age bred cows, balance aged bred cows. Next week will be an all-breeds calf sale, stock cow and bred heifer sale on Tuesday, November 24th.
