Pierre, SD Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/20/2009 ***Resending, addition to receipts*** Receipts: ** 6709** Last Week: 8469 Year Ago: 7290 Compared to last week: Steer calves weighing under 600 lbs sold mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher, cattle weighing over 600 lbs sold 5.00 to 6.00 higher. Heifer calves sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Yearling feeder steers had no recent comparison, however a firmer undertone noted. Yearling feeder heifers too lightly tested to trend. Large offering of feeder cattle today, however there were over 600 head of cancellations today which are rescheduled to be offered in coming weeks. Many buyers in the seats allowed for very good demand for all classes. Of the feeder cattle supply 63 percent steers; 37 percent heifers, with 42 percent weighing over 600 lbs. There will be an annual Thanksgiving bred cow and heifer sale next Friday, November 27th, 2009, expecting 2200-2500 bred females.
