RA_LS755 Raleigh, NC Fri Nov 6, 2009 USDA-NC Dept of Ag Market News Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Mount Airy, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, Shelby, Siler City, Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Nov 5, 2009 Cattle Receipts: 4410 Last Week: 4872 Last Year: 4793 Slaughter cows were mostly steady to 1.00 higher, bulls 50 cents to 2.50 lower. Feeder steers trended mixed, heifers were mostly steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter cows made up 12 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 2 percent, and feeders 81 percent. The feeder supply included 28 percent steers, 40 percent heifers, and 32 percent bulls. Near 21 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
