OK_GR310 OKLAHOMA CITY, OK Thu June 13, 2013 Oklahoma Dept. of Ag Market News OKLAHOMA HAY MARKET REPORT Hay movement light to moderate as open weather permits haying to resume. Demand light to moderate early even though stocks are extremely low. Very little Premium or Supreme quality alfalfa available as most meadows very mature. Storm debris is hampering harvesting in localized areas. Flood damage also continues to pose problems for a few producers. Ponds and lakes are generally full throughout central and eastern Oklahoma. Portions of western Oklahoma remain under severe drought conditions. Wheat and canola harvest underway but it's too early to determine yields in most areas. Market News continues to maintain an online hay directory for both in-state and out-of-state hay producers. The directories are on the ODAFF homepage at www.oda.state.ok.us. Producers wishing to list hay are encouraged to call at 1-800-580-6543 or email jack.carson@ag.ok.gov.
