Northwest Direct Feeder Cattle Weekly Summary WA-OR-ID 

Feeder Cattle:
Receipts:  5000    Last Week:  1500    Year Ago:  1700

   Compared to last week, feeder cattle steady in a light test. Trade moderate 
with moderate to good demand mostly for fall contracting of calves. Dry pasture 
conditions in Oregon and Idaho have cattle being delivered lighter than normal. 
Many producers are looking for grass pastures. The feeder supply included 74 
percent steers and 26 percent heifers. Near 55 percent of the supply weighed 
over 600 lbs. Prices are FOB weighing point with a 1-4 percent shrink or 
equivalent and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and a 3-6 cent slide on yearlings. 

   Steers: Medium and Large 1-2: Current FOB Price: 850-900 lbs. 121.00 WA-OR. 
Current Delivered Price: 850-900 lbs. 121.00-122.00 WA-OR.  Future FOB Price: 450-
500 lbs. 171.00 for Nov ID; 550-600 lbs. 157.00-169.70 for Oct-Nov ID-OR; 600-640 
lbs. 149.00-155.00 calves for Oct-Nov WA-ID-OR; 700-750 lbs. 140.00 calves for Nov 
ID.

   Holstein Steers: Large 2-3: Current Delivery FOB Price: 350 lbs. 108.00-
110.00 WA.

   Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2: Future FOB Price: 450-500 lbs. 155.50 for Oct ID; 
500-550 lbs. 160.00-161.70 value added for Oct-Nov ID; 550-600 lbs.  145.00- 147.00 
for Oct-Nov WA-OR; 600-700 lbs. 133.00-145.00 calves for Oct-Nov ID.
