July 09, 2009 (REPORT 27) FOREIGN TYPE CHEESE Wholesale prices of domestic varieties declined as a result of last week's decline in the weekly average of blocks on CME Group cash trading. Prices if imported varieties remained unchanged. NASS reports that domestic Swiss production during May 2009 totaled 26.6 million pounds, 3.8% more than April 2009 but 1.9% less than May 2008. The USDA initial allocation of cheese for the Dairy Export Incentive Program (DEIP) for the 2009/10 marketing year which began July 1, is 2,878 MT (6.3 million pounds).
