CASEIN - NATIONAL

Casein markets and prices remain very firm.  Domestic buyers continue to 
question suppliers on product availability for the future.  Many domestic buyers 
have contracted for their needs, but are seeking advice from the suppliers as to 
how they perceive the market.  European sourced product is coming from 
inventories that were generated during the most recent production season.  
European suppliers indicate that overall inventories are lower, but assure 
contracted customers that their needs will be met.  The Oceania milk production 
season has not developed as positively as projected, thus product mix, including 
casein, is going through some manufacturing adjustments.  At this time, casein 
is still being generated.
