SKIM MILK POWDER (SMP):  The milk production season in Europe is basically on 
the downside of the season, thus, when possible, milk is being directed towards 
butter/powder versus other manufactured dairy products.  Many European traders 
and handlers are hopeful that the Dairy Commission's proposal to extend 
intervention until February 2010 will be accepted.  Clearances of skim milk 
powder to the program continue with total volumes nearing 230,000 MT, well above 
the maximum levels of 109,000 MT attained by late April.
