LN_LS180 New Holland, PA Fri Nov 04, 2011 USDA-PA Dept of Ag Market News New Holland Sales Stables Special Feeder Sale Auction Report for Friday, November 4, 2011 Receipts: 582 Last Month: 439 Friday`s feeder special offered a moderate run of feeder cattle. Demand for black-hided cattle and crossbreds was moderate as quality and weight varied enough to make it difficult to piece together a consistent load. These beef type steers and heifers traded with a weaker undertone throughout the sale. As for Holstein feeders there was a large supply on offer with some very attractive lots available. One consignment consisted of a 150 head of double vaccinated Holstein steers weighing from 700-1000 lbs, ready to go on feed. These steers set the momentum for the Holstein market and were followed by some other attractive Holstein consignments. Overall Holstein demand was very good setting in some of the highest prices for this fall, trading mostly 5.00-8.00 higher than last month's feeder special. All prices per cwt.
