JO_GR110 Portland, OR Thu Feb 09, 2012 USDA Market News Portland Daily Grain Report Bids as of 11:30 a.m.; Subject to change Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during February by unit trains and barges, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other wheat and barley bids are for full February delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery. March wheat futures closed 9-3/4 to 18 cents per bushel lower than Wednesday’s closes. Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat delivered to Portland in unit trains and barges during February were steady to 30 cents per bushel higher compared to Wednesday’s bids. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for February Portland delivery trended 20 to 23 cents per bushel lower than Wednesday’s noon bids in reaction to the lower Kansas City March wheat futures, and a lower basis bid by some exporters. Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for February delivery were not available as most exporters are not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Bids for US 2 Barley for February delivery were not available. Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars trended 3-3/4 to 10 cents per cwt lower than Wednesday’s noon bids. Bids for corn truck delivered to the Yakima Valley trended 10 cents per cwt lower compared to Wednesday’s noon bids. The lower Chicago March corn futures pressured cash prices, however a higher basis bid by some corn traders tempered the declines.
