JC_LS770 Jefferson City, MO Tue Nov 24, 2009 MO Dept of Ag/USDA Market News Carthage- Joplin Regional Stockyards Video Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/23/2009 Offering: 6118 Last Week: 486 Year Ago: 1981 Demand moderate for this week's Joplin Video Auction. The video auction was held in conjunction with Joplin's regular Monday feeder cattle sale. Cattle offered were from Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Alabama. Bulk of the cattle will be hauled five to twenty two miles, two loads thirty to forty miles and weighed on the truck with a two percent pencil shrink. Near ten percent of the offering will be weighed on the ground with a two percent pencil shrink. The slide on yearlings will be four cents on the first fifty pounds over base weight, six cents on the next forty pounds, and over ninety pounds contract voidable. The slide on calves will be ten cents up to 90 lbs over base weight, and over 90 lbs contract voidable.
