Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 06/05/2013

Receipts:  493    2 Weeks Ago:  1987    Year Ago:  1321

   Compared to the previous auction from two weeks ago, too few
feeder steers and heifers for a good market test.  Slaughter cows
steady to 1.00 higher.  A good run of cows with only small packages
of calves offered.  Farmers waiting for a string of dry days to
finish crop planting and begin work on hay.  Demand moderate and
supply light.  Cows and bulls accounted for 40 percent of the run
and feeders 60 percent.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls
made up approximately 58 percent of the run and heifers 42 percent.
Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 45 percent.

Scheduling note:  The next feeder sale is Wednesday, June 19.
