JC_LS766 Jefferson City, MO Tue Feb 9, 2010 MO Dept of Ag/USDA Market News Sedalia- Central Missouri Sales Company Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 02/08/2010 Receipts: 140 Last Week: 944 Year Ago: 1551 Compared to last weeks nice test, there were too few feeders on test this week for a good price comparison. With snow falling and a winter weather advisory in effect, supply was very light. However, demand was good especially considering the weather forecast of blowing snow and bitter temps. Slaughter cows had a light test with most cows showing more fill than normal. Cows and bulls were 31 percent of receipts. In the feeder supply, steers and bulls were 53 percent of the run; heifers 47 percent. Near 19 percent of feeders weighed over 600 lbs.
