JC_LS761 Jefferson City, MO Fri Jun 14, 2013 MO Dept of Ag/USDA Market News New Cambria- New Cambria Livestock Auction Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 06/13/2013 Receipts: 1634 2 Weeks Ago: 1406 Year Ago: 2012 Compared to the previous auction, feeder steers and heifers steady except for some 600-700 lbs trading 2.00-4.00 lower compared to the active market from two weeks ago. Slaughter cows steady. A few large strings of yearlings in the offering, however much of the feeder run consisted of smaller packages of calves and light weight yearlings with an inconsistent quality that made piecing together loads rather difficult. No reported feedlot trade yet this week. Cattle feeders seem to be waiting for the summer low in the fed cattle market to take place before they jumping back into the feeder market with both feet. Demand and supply moderate. Cows and bulls accounted for 18 percent of the run and feeders 82 percent. In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up approximately 62 percent of the run; heifers 38 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 65 percent.
