Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 02/09/2010 Receipts: 578 Last Week: 2449 Year Ago: 1754 Compared to last week; feeder steers over 800 lbs and heifers over 700 lbs sold firm to instances of 2.00 higher, on a light test, while lighter weight calves sold near steady, on a light test of feeder cattle. Supply was light with very good demand on the yearling cattle. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady, on a light test. The offering was made up of 8 percent cows and bulls with the balance feeders. The feeder supply included 70 percent steers and 30 percent heifers with near 75 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
