Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 06/23/2009 Receipts: 1020 Last Week: 1401 Year Ago: 1708 Compared to two weeks ago, on comparable sales of yearling steers weighing 850-900 lbs sold steady to 2.00 higher, with all other weights of steers selling steady. Feeder heifers weighing 750-800 lbs on a light test sold 3.00 higher as a few smaller bunches of heifers weighing between 450-600 lbs sold up to 2.00 higher. Supply included several pot load lots of good quality yearling steers selling with good demand as corn futures have fallen. Slaughter cows and bulls sold from 4.00-8.00 higher. Supply included 15 percent slaughter cows, bulls and slaughter steers and heifers with the balance feeders. Feeder offering included 70 percent steers, 30 percent heifers and near 80 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
