Koshkonong- Oregon County Goat and Sheep Market
Goat and Sheep Report for 6/27/2009

Receipts:  379    last month:  579    year ago:  352

Compared to last month goats 2.00 to 22.00 lower, except feeder kids under 45 
lbs, Selection 3 billies and yearling billies which sold steady to 20.00 higher. 
Hair lambs under 80 lbs 10.00 lower other sheep steady were tested. Demand was 
moderate, with a moderate supply on hand. Offerings were made up of 66 percent 
goats and 34 percent sheep. All goats and sheep graded by MO Dept of Ag-USDA 
Graders and bought per cwt. based on in-weights at the buying station. Next 
scheduled market date will be Saturday June 27th. The station will be open to 
accept goats from 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. All prices per cwt.

Slaughter Classes:
Goats:
   Kids: Selection 1 45-60 lbs 115.00, 61-80 lbs 110.00. Selection 1-2 81 lbs 
and over 75.00. Selection 2 45-60 lbs 105.00, 61-80 lbs 95.00. Selection 3 45-
60 lbs 85.00.

   Feeder Kids:  Selection 1-2 20-44 lbs 85.00.

   Slaughter Does/Nannies:  Selection 1-2 45.00; Selection 3 
Selection 3 15.00. any grade yearling 50.00. pygmy does 30.00.

   Slaughter Bucks: Selection 1-2 45.00-50.0. Selection 3 35.00. any grade 
yearling 
50.00.

Sheep:
   Slaughter Lambs: hair lambs 80 lbs and under Choice and Prime 2-4 
70.00-80.00. Good and Choice 1-3 55.00. 

   Feeder Lambs: any grade under 50 lbs 50.00.

   Slaughter Ewes:  Utility and Good 1-3 160 lbs and over 20.00-30.00; Cull 
10.00.

   Slaughter Rams:  aged 15.00-25.00
