Koshkonong- Oregon County Goat and Sheep Market
Goat and Sheep Report for 1/27/2010

Receipts:  63    last month:  100    year ago:  0

Compared to last month kid goats 5.00 to 15.00 lower, except kids under 44 lbs 
which were 10.00 higher. Does and bucks steady. Sheep not well tested. Demand 
was moderate, with a light supply on hand. Offerings were made up of 84 percent 
goats and 16 percent sheep. All goats and sheep graded by MO Dept of Ag-USDA 
Graders and bought per cwt. based on in-weights at the buying station. Next 
scheduled market date will be Saturday Feb 27th. The station will be open to 
accept goats from 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. All prices per cwt.

Slaughter Classes:
Goats:
   Kids: Selection 1 45-60 lbs 148.00, 61-80 lbs 135.00. Selection 2 45-60 lbs 140.00, 61-80 lbs 120.00. 

   Feeder Kids:  Selection 1-2 20-44 lbs 100.00.

   Slaughter Does/Nannies:  Selection 1-2 70.00; Selection 3 
Selection 3 25.00. 

   Slaughter Bucks: Selection 1-2 70.00.

Sheep:
   Slaughter Lambs: wool lambs 110 lbs and under Choice 2-4 
80.00-90.00.

   Feeder Lambs: not tested

   Slaughter Ewes:  Utility and Good 1-2 160 lbs and under 30.00

   Slaughter Rams:  Aged rams 30.00
