Cow and Bull Auction Close for 2/03/10

Receipts:  512   Last Week:  893   Last Year:  1000

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 2.00-3.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold 2.00 higher. Slaughter prices reacted to a light
supply even though slaughter buyers reported this morning that money had
been taken off meat over night. A couple herd dispersals were included
in the offering, however the supply of bred cows and cow/calf pairs re-
mained light but of good quality. Supply was light and demand very good
for slaughter classes.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2-6 yrs 2nd and 3rd stage 1100-1325
lbs 650.00-850.00, 1st stage 1150-1275 lbs 650.00-750.00; short and solid
mouth to aged 2nd and 3rd stage 1100-1250 lbs 500.00-635.00. Large 1-2  7
yr 2nd stage 1475 lb indiv. 910.00. Medium and Large 2  3-6 yrs 3rd stage
couple 985-1025 lbs 600.00-675.00. Medium 1-2  5 yrs 2nd and 3rd stage

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth
1085-1350 lb cows w/babies to 285 lb calves and several rebred most
950.00-1075.00, pkg. attractive 5 yr pairs w/185 lb calves and all cows
rebred 1235.00; short and solid mouth 1250 lb cow w/baby calf 850.00.
Medium 1-2  2-3 yrs pkg. 850 lb cows w/150-160 lb calf 1050.00; broken
mouth 1000 lb cow w/140 lb calf 675.00.
