Cow and Bull Auction Report for 11/18/09

Receipts:  721    Last week:  1262    Last Year:  1087

   Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 higher, advance
on upper/half of each of the three grades. Lower dressing, especially Lean
cows no better than steady with little interest.  Bulls sold weak to mostly
2.00 lower.  Supply and demand light to moderate.

   Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2  Average and better quality lot 11 head blks
5-7 yrs 1233 lbs 2nd and 3rd stage 820.00 per head, several singles 5-7 yrs
1100-1350 lbs 2nd and 3rd stage 650.00-750.00.  Average and lower quality 4-7 
yrs 975-1250 lbs 2nd and 3rd stage 550.00-660.00 per head, lot 14 head mixed 
colors 2-6 yrs 919 lbs very thin 1st thru 3rd stage 535.000.  Few bunches better 
quality mixed 6 yrs to mostly short-solid mouth 1100-1235 lbs 1st thru 3rd stage 
mainly 2nd stage 560.00-570.00, some others 1100-1200 lbs 42.50-47.50 per cwt, 
broken-mouth 1050-1200 lbs 2nd and 3rd stage 450.00-530.00, couple lots 1020-
1025 lbs thin 34.00-36.50 per cwt

   Cow Calf Pairs: Very scarce, couple pkgs average to better quality broken-
mouth cows 950-1100 lbs with babies to 275 lb calves 575.00-650.00 per pair.
