Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness, pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. There are 55 percent A.I. bred heifers. Approximately 12 percent of the offering were Teir 2 Show Me Select heifers. This means that they have met requirements and are out high accuracy sires. Several herds have 6 to 7 generations of stacked pedigrees. Several consignors feed their cattle and get top premium at U.S. Premium Beef on steers mates. All heifers are expected to calve from late January to the end of April with projected dates given for each lot of heifers. Within the offering, there were 97 percent black or black white face, some Registered Angus and Registered Simmentals. Heifers were graded and sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving dates and body type similarity. A large crowd attended the sale and demand was high. Supply consisted of 127 bred heifers from 13 producers, in 65 lots selling to 24 different buyers, average weight 1104 lbs, with a sale average of $1716.00 per head. There were 14 head of Teir 2-AI bred heifers, with a average sale price of $1950.00; 1 head Teir 2 natural bred heifers, with a average price of $1800.00; 55 head Teir 1-AI bred heifers, with a average price $1853.00; 57 Teir 1 natural bred heifers, with a average price $1525.00.
