Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness, pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. There are 61 percent A.I. bred heifers. A large percentage of the offering are Teir 2 Show Me Select heifers. This means that they have met requirements and are out high accuracy sires. Several herds have 6 to 7 generations of stacked pedigrees. Several consignors feed their cattle and get top premium at U.S. Premium Beef on steers mates. All heifers are expected to calve from the late January to middle of April with projected dates given for each lot of heifers. Within the offering, there were 93 percent black or black white face, some Registered Angus and Registered Simmentals, the rest of the offering consisted of Angus, Hereford, Simmental crosses. Heifers were graded and sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving dates and body type similarity. A large crowd attended the sale and demand was high. Supply consisted of 65 bred heifers from 11 producers, in 46 lots selling to 19 different buyers, average weight 1156 lbs, with a sale average of $1413.00 per head. There were 22 lots of AI bred heifers with an average sale price of $1448.00; 18 lots all natural bred heifers with an average price of $1391.00; 6 lots of mixed AI and natural bred heifers with an average sale price of 1363.00.
