Cattle Auction Report for 07/07/2009

Receipts:  1148    Last Week:  1292    Year Ago:  870

   Compared to last week, steers from 450-600 lbs were uneven; six
weight steers 2.00 to 3.00 higher and heavier steers were near steady.
Heifers traded 1.00 to 3.00 higher.  Slaughter cows sold 1.00 to 2.00
lower.  There was a nice run with two load lots selling.  Demand was
good but buyers were not overly active.  Cows and bulls were 16 percent
of receipts.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls were 54 percent of
the run; heifers 46 percent.  Near 38 percent of feeders weighed over
600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  450-500 lbs 114.00-117.00; 500-
600 lbs 108.25-119.50; 600-700 lbs 104.25-111.00, calves 109.00; 700-
750 lbs 102.00-102.50, calves 99.25; load and pkg 870-885 lbs 96.75-
98.75.  Medium and Large 1-2  pkg 335 lbs thin 125.00; 400-500 lbs
113.00-119.00, thin 117.50-120.50, fleshy 110.50; 500-600 lbs 107.00-
111.50; 600-700 lbs 101.75-108.00; 700-800 lbs 95.00-99.75.  Medium and
Large 2  pkg 573 lbs 104.00.  Large 1  590-600 lbs 106.00-107.50.
Large 3 Holsteins  pkg 550 lbs 68.00; pkg 646 lbs 68.00.

   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1  400-500 lbs 99.00-105.00;
