Feeder Cattle Auction for 02/08/12

   Compared to the market from two weeks ago, feeder steers and
heifers over 500 lbs sold 2.00-5.00 higher, with light weight calves
under 500 lbs steady.  Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 higher.  Quality
was outstanding with several hundred head of the heavier weight
heifers purchased to make cows as multiple replacement buyers
competed for the available offering.  The top package of 26 heifers
weighed 715 lbs and sold for 179.50 or 1283.00 per head.  Demand
very good and supply moderate.  Cows and bulls accounted for
3 percent of the run and feeders 97 percent.  In the feeder supply,
steers and bulls made up approximately 51 percent of the run and
heifers 49 percent.  Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 69 percent.

Scheduling note:  Green City will hold a special Replacement Cow Sale
on Saturday, February 18.  The next feeder sale is Wednesday,
February 22.
