Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 07/07/2009

   Compared to last week, steers and Heifers were steady to 2.00 higher,
with several 650-750 weight steers 2.00 to mostly 3.00 higher.  Supply
moderate.  Demand good, although best, for the most part, on weaned calves
w/shots and yearling cattle.  Even though too few bunches of 250-325 lb feather
weight steer calves on offer for a market test, several individual sales were
dollars improved over previous sales, as some local replacements going on
attempting to keep their dollars per head down on the little fellows.  Locally,
several folks becoming in bad need of rain, with another round of heat in the
immediate forecast.  Supply consisted of 51 percent steers and 49 percent
heifers.  Near 63 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
