   Compared to last week, steers were unevenly steady to 2.00 higher, except big
calves over 650 lbs, along with some lesser quality lighter steer and bull
calves that were 2.00-3.00 lower.  Heifers unevenly steady, although several
500-650 weight toppy heifer calves sold steady to 2.00 higher, however most 650-
700 lbs were weak to 2.00 lower.  Weights over 800 lbs were limited last week,
but sold with a much stronger undertone in this weeks go-round.  Supply
moderate, with some reputation strings and bunches of 550-750 lb Fall calves.
Demand unevenly moderate to good, best on 450-650 weight Northern type calves
having 2 rounds of respiratory shots.  With current temperatures heating up and
high heat index prevailing calves and yearlings with lots of hair, flesh,
average to lower quality soggy un-weaned and un-vaccinated calves are suddenly
deep at the bottom of most want-lists and attracting little interest from the
majority of buyers as the seasonal heat factor comes into play  Supply consisted
of 57 percent steers and 43 percent heifers.  Around 61 percent weighed over 600
lbs.
