Feeder Cattle Auction

Receipts: 690        Last week 1322       Last year 1739

   Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 550 lbs steady. Steers over 
550 lbs and feeder heifers 1.00-3.00 higher. Slaughter cows 2.00-3.00 higher.
Supply light. Near 4 percent cows and 27 percent of the feeders were over 
600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 47 percent steers and bulls and 53 percent
heifers. Stong demand despite the feeder board actually being lower so far this
week. Longer term there seems to be more bullishness than we’ve seen in a while
with lower beef production almost a certainty again for 2010 and analysts 
expecting an increase in exports in the range of 6 to 10 percent although 
domestic demand remains the thorn in our side. The winter weather was showing
on several cattle this week with good to very good condition on most offerings. 
Light receipts due to recent snowfall in the area.

117.50-118.00; 500-600 lbs 96.25-111.00; 600-700 lbs 94.00-96.50; 700-800 lbs
94.00-95.50. Medium and large 1-2  300-400 lbs 111.00-125.00; 400-500 lbs 
108.50-115.00; 500-600 lbs 93.50-108.00; 600-700 lbs 93.25-96.25; 700-800 lbs
