Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 2/03/2010 

Cattle receipts: 1411      last week 462        year ago  2113 

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers 500-650 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher, other
weights firm to 2.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 650 lbs 2.00-5.00 higher with 
little comparison available from last week on heifers over 650 lbs. Slaughter 
cows 1.00-2.00 higher. Supply moderate. Near 12 percent cows and 58 percent of 
the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 62 percent steers and
bulls and 38 percent heifers. Mostly good quality cattle in the auction with
several offering very good condition as well. Strong buyer attendance with the
battle starting to heat up for those mid-weight grass cattle. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and large 1  400-500 lbs 118.00-125.50; 500-600 lbs
103.25-119.50; 600-700 lbs 95.00-105.00; 700-800 lbs 91.00-96.75; 800-900 lbs
90.50-94.50. Medium and large 1-2  375-400 lbs few 120.00-125.50; 400-500 lbs
112.00-124.00; 500-600 lbs 102.00-115.00; 600-700 lbs 94.50-102.50. 

   Feeder heifers: Medium and large 1  package 260 lbs 103.50; 400-500 lbs 
99.00-105.00; 500-600 lbs 93.25-100.75; 600-700 lbs 91.50-96.00; 700-800 lbs
86.75-90.50; small package fleshy 840 lbs 74.00; small package 920 lbs 83.00.
Medium and large 1-2  small package 280 lbs 102.00; 375-400 lbs 100.00-101.00;
400-500 lbs 94.50-103.00, small package thin 430 lbs 107.00; 500-600 lbs 89.50-
95.75, small package thin 525 lbs 99.00; 600-700 lbs 87.50-94.75.

   Feeder bulls: Medium and large 1-2  550-600 lbs 91.25-99.75; 600-750 lbs

   Medium and large 1-2, 5 years to short and solid, 1100-1400 lbs, second to
third stage 725.00-925.00 per head. 

   Cow and calf pairs: Thin medium and large 1-2, 8 years to short and solid, 
975-1075 lbs, with 100-275 lb calves 750.00-885.00 per pair. 
   Few thin medium and large 1-2, 5 years, 975-1100 lbs, with 125-175 lb calves
850.00-1020.00 per pair.
