New Cambria - New Cambria Livestock Auction
Feeder Cattle Auction for 05/16/13

Receipts:  1613    2 Weeks Ago:  1745    Year Ago:  1496

   Compared to the previous feeder cattle auction from two weeks ago,
feeder steers and heifers steady.  Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher
compared to last week’s cow sale.  Much of the offering sold in small
packages as producers that have been waiting for green grass are
making their final marketing’s and cleaning out their pens.  Many of
the calves showing some flesh which brings along a discount in price.
Demand moderate to good and supply moderate.  Cows and bulls accounted
for 7 percent of the run and feeders 93 percent.  In the feeder supply,
steers and bulls made up approximately 57 percent of the run; heifers
43 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 40 percent.
