Feeder Cattle Auction for 06/17/2013

   Very few feeder cattle comparisons with recent auctions, although
the market was trading with a steady to firm undertone on weights with
similar quality cattle marketed over the past month.  Slaughter cows
steady to 1.00 lower compared to last week.  Feeder run consisted of
calves and yearlings which made piecing together full loads difficult,
which is always the case this time of year.  Warm and somewhat drier
weather may allow the hay harvest to finally get underway this week.
Demand moderate to good and the supply light.  Cows and bulls accounted
for 20 percent of the run and feeders 80 percent.  In the feeder supply,
steers and bulls made up approximately 65 percent of the run; heifers
35 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 67 percent.
