Cattle Market Report for 02/09/2004

Receipts:  75    Last week:  408    Year ago:  418

   Compared to last week, insufficient volume steers and heifers for
a price test.  Too few slaughter cows for an adequate price comparison,
although undertone was weak to 2.00 lower.  Snow and ice continues to
hold receipts at a near standstill.  This report will be the final
Monday cattle report from Wright County Livestock as the market will
be changing its sale days to Friday. The first Friday sale will be on 
February 13th starting at 11:00 o’clock.

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  few 435-455 lbs 103.00-106.00.
Medium and Large 1-2  small pkg 593 lbs 86.00.

   Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1  few 500-600 lbs 77.50-85.00; small
pkg 725 lbs 77.00.

   Holstein Steers: Large 3  pkg 261 lbs 89.00.

   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 indiv 435 lbs fleshy 86.00; indiv
560 lbs 82.00.  Large 1  few 485-685 lbs 74.50-79.00;  pkg 860 lbs 68.00.

   Cow-calf pairs: Virtually absent.
