Cow and Bull Auction Close for 7/06/09

Receipts:  417   Last Week:  419   Last Year:  437

   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold fully steady. A high percentage of the offering went
to slaughter and a high percent of the slaughter cows were cull dairy cows.
The number and quality of both bred cows and cow/calf pairs was limited with
most bred cows in the 2nd stage. Supply was moderate and demand good for
slaughter classes.

59.00-76.00; 3-7 years 765-1205 lbs 51.00-63.00.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 years to short and solid  mouth
mostly 2nd few 3rd stage 855-1345 lbs 660.00-860.00, 1st stage 2 years
885-1170 lbs 600.00-785.00; short and solid mouth to aged 2nd and 3rd
stage 1060-1210 lbs 560.00-660.00. Large 1-2  6 year 2nd stage 1405 lb
indiv. 735.00. Medium 1-2  2-6 years 2nd stage 750-985 lbs 585.00-725.00;
broken mouth 3rd stage 1005 lb indiv. 510.00.

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  4-6 years 1020-1255 lb cows w/
babies to 475 lb calves and few rebred 825.00-1010.00; broken mouth to
aged pkg. 1100 lb cows w/260-290 lb calves 775.00. Large 1-2  6 year 1400
lb cow w/185 lb calf 1100.00. Medium and Large 2  6 year 1095 lb cow w/200
lb calf 750.00. Medium 1-2  3 years to short and solid mouth 855-985 lb
cows w/200-310 lb calves 825.00-935.00; broken mouth pkg. 1040 lb cows w/
babies to 150 lb calves 635.00.
