Cow and Bull Auction Close for 2/08/10

Receipts:  312   Last Week: 232   Last Year:  623

   Compared last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady with instances 1.00 lower
and slaughter bulls sold steady. A couple small herd dispersals were included
in the offering providing a moderate supply of bred cows but cow/calf pairs
were scarce. Mud is deeper than any of the snow has been this winter causing
many producers to park the pickup w/bale bed and look for a tractor to put
out hay, still hoping not to get stuck. The supply was light and demand
moderate for slaughter classes.
Note: The Marketing Center will hold a special replacement cow sale Saturday
February 13th at 6:00pm.

stage 1130-1365 lbs 650.00-850.00, 1st stage 1000 lb indiv. 640.00; short
and solid mouth to aged 2nd and 3rd stage 1075-1150 lbs 520.00-600.00.
Large 1-2  6 yrs to short and solid mouth 2nd and 3rd stage 1395-1510 lbs
700.00-750.00. Medium and Large 2  5 yrs to short and solid mouth 2nd and

calves 925.00, 5 yr 1350 lb cow w/newborn calf 720.00; short and solid mouth
1200-1240 lb cows w/babies to 150 lb calves 725.00-745.00. Medium 1-2  broken
mouth 1035 lb cow w/170 lb calf and rebred 620.00.
