Cow and Bull Auction 5/13/2013

Receipts:  630    Last Week:  402    Last Year:  415

   Compared to last Monday, breaking and boning slaughter cows sold 1.00-
2.00 higher while lean cows sold steady and slaughter bulls sold 2.00
higher. A high percent of the slaughter cows were in the breaking and boning
category. There was a moderate supply of bred cows with most in the second
stage, but a very light supply of cow/calf pairs. A few folks have started to
cut some hay but it is difficult to find a drying window long enough to get it
cured, with rain in the forecast again for Wednesday. Supply was moderate and
demand moderate to good for slaughter classes.

most 90.00-109.00, few 110.00-113.00; 3-7 yrs 860-1225 lbs 72.00-86.00.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth most 2nd
few 3rd stage 1050-1335 lbs most 1075.00-1300.00, pkg. blacks 3rd stage
1350.00, 1st stage 915-1325 lbs 1000.00-1110.00; short and solid to aged 2nd
and 3rd stage 1120-1350 lbs 900.00-1060.00. Large 1-2  5 yrs to short and
solid mouth 2nd and 3rd stage 1378-1518 lbs 1195.00-1300.00. Medium and Large
2  3 yrs to short and solid mouth 2nd and 3rd stage 910-1135 lbs 910.00-1050.00,
1st stage 1085-1120 lbs 870.00-900.00. Medium 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  3 yrs to short and solid mouth
1050-1200 lb cows w/130-280 lb calves 1310.00-1560.00. Medium and Large 2
short and solid mouth 1175 lb cow w/150 lb calf 1235.00 per pair.
