JC_LS140 Jefferson City, MO Tue Nov 17, 2009 MO Dept of Ag-USDA Market News Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center Cow and Bull Auction Close for 11/16/2009 Receipts: 503 Last week: 746 Last Year: 389 Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold steady with instances of 1.00 higher. Bred cows and pairs were fairly scarce and interest in those available was somewhat lacking. Several of the cows on offer had some good size and dressing percentage but the majority of the slaughter cows and bulls were pretty full. Rain moved back into Southwest Missouri over the weekend and is forecast for the better part of the next week. Supply and demand for slaughter classes was moderate.
