Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 7/08/2009

Receipts:  2201    Last Week:  1199    Year Ago:  1312

   Compared to last week, steers, Holstein steers under 700 lbs and heifers
under 600 lbs steady to 3.00 higher.  Feeder steers, Holstein steers over
700 lbs and heifers over 600 lbs steady.  Demand wavered and turned lighter
through the day with closing sales of calves and yearlings steady at best.
Demand moderate to good, supply moderate.  Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle
contracts traded lower at the CME.  Corn contracts were lower with the exception
of July contracts up a few cents.  The feeder supply included 38 percent steers,
16 percent Holsteins, 39 percent heifers, 07 percent bulls, with 47 percent over
600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  450-500 lbs 115.50-117.50; 500-600 lbs
103.00-115.00; 600-700 lbs 102.50-105.50, calves few 99.00; 700-800 lbs 96.00-
103.50; lot 820 lbs 102.50.  Medium and Large 1-2  350-400 lbs 109.00-110.00,
pkg thin 113.00; 450-500 lbs 100.00-111.00; 500-600 lbs 96.50-106.50; 600-700
lbs 96.00-104.50, calves 95.00-100.00; 700-800 lbs 90.00-101.00; pkg 841 lbs
