Feeder Cattle Auction for 06/11/13

   Compared to the previous auction from two weeks ago, too few
feeder cattle comparisons to establish a trend.  Slaughter cows
2.00-4.00 higher.  Bulk of the feeder receipts were yearling steers
with several strings of cow/calf pairs and bred cows also offered.
Area farmers are busy trying to finish crop planting and hoping for
a few dry days to start working on the hay.  Demand moderate and supply
light.  Cows and bulls accounted for 25 percent of the run and feeders
75 percent.  In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up
approximately 83 percent of the run; heifers 17 percent; steers and
heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 75 percent.

Scheduling note:  The next feeder sale is Tuesday, July 2.
