Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 05/17/2013

   Some hay has begun to hit the ground in Missouri with widely varying 
quality and yields.  The stop-and-go early growth period looks to have a 
lasting effect and buyers and sellers alike are waiting to see the end 
result of this year's crop.  New crop prices have not yet been established.
Hay supply is light, demand is light, and prices are steady.  
The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for 
both buyers and sellers.

(All prices f.o.b. and per ton unless specified and on most recent reported 
sales prices listed as round bales based generally on 5x6 bales with weights

Wheat straw 3.00-5.00 per small square bale
