Demand and offerings were moderate. US 1-3 under 400 lbs 31.00-37.00 400-450 lbs 34.00-37.00 450-500 lbs 34.00-38.00 500-550 lbs 36.00-40.00 over 550 lbs 38.00-40.00 Boars: under 300 lbs 15.00-21.00 over 300 lbs 5.00-10.00 Throughout the week, sows traded unevenly steady. During the first part of the week sows traded steady to 2.00 higher. By Wednesday demand weakened and sows traded steady to 3.00 lower. An increase in offerings and anticipation of packers closing over the upcoming holiday pressured sow prices towards the end of the week. Demand was moderate to good with moderate to heavy offerings. The slaughter receipts for this week totaled 5,032 compared to 4,200 last week and 4,099 last year.
