Eastern Cornbelt Direct Feeder Cattle Summary
Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

Reported sales this week:  313   Last week:  412    Last year: 456 

Compared to last week, not enough feeder cattle for an accurate price 
comparison. Trade and demand very light. Rain throughout most of the week in 
many parts of the region halted harvest activities. Despite the down time 
many producers were reluctant to purchase feeder cattle. Thoughts of 
finishing harvest and field preparation were foremost on their minds.  
Confirmed sales this week were 66% heifers; and 34% Holstein steers; with 
100% over 600 lbs.  

Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Not tested.

Feeder Holstein Steers: Large 3: 800-850 lbs 63.50.

Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1: 700-750 lbs 89.50.
Medium and Large 1-2: 750-800 lbs 84.00.

Prices are based FOB the farm.
