Eastern Cornbelt Direct Feeder Cattle Summary
Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

Compared to last week: No trend available for feeder steers and heifers due to 
limited receipts.  Feeder Holstein steers sold with a steady undertone on light 
receipts.  Trade moderate with moderate demand.  Recent rains in the Southern 
Plains over the last several weeks have sparked interest in grazing calves and 
short yearlings.  Confirmed sales this week were 100 percent Holstein steers.  
Approximately 31 percent of this week's receipts weighed over 600 lbs.  Prices 
based on net weights FOB after a 3 percent shrink or equivalent and 5-10 cent 
slide on calves and 4-6 cent slide on yearlings from base weights.

Feeder Holstein Steers: Large 3: 5 loads 500 lbs 122.00; 850-875 lbs 100.75-
102.50; load 975 lbs 98.50.
