GL_LS795 Greeley, CO Fri May 17, 2013 USDA-CO Dept of Ag Market News Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary Receipts: 1346 Last Week: 2947 Last Year: 2598 Compared to last week: No market analysis available due to a very thin test however a higher undertone was noted on all classes. Spring storms continued to bring much needed moisture to the state. Even with the recent moisture the entire state remains in a drought with the Southeast portion of the state being in an extreme to exceptional drought. According to USDA NASS pasture and range conditions saw some improved as a result of last week's precipitation yet 64 percent is rated very poor to poor and only 34 percent rated fair to excellent. Trading activity was moderate on moderate demand. The supply consisted of 51 percent steers and 49 percent heifers. Feeders over 600 pounds comprised 25 percent of the total supply. Combined weighted average report for 3 Colorado auctions this week including: Winter Livestock, La Junta Livestock, Sterling Livestock Commission Company.
