Collins, CO Sheep and Goat Report for Wednesday May 22, 2013 Total Receipts: 1315 Last Week: 1614 Year Ago: 1426 Sheep Receipts: 889 Last Week: 1064 Year Ago: 876 Goat Receipts: 426 Last Week: 550 Year Ago: 550 Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs traded mostly steady. Feeder lambs traded mostly 4.00 lower on comparable sales. Slaughter ewes traded unevenly steady on a thin test. Slaughter bucks traded steady. Slaughter kids traded sharply lower. Slaughter nannies traded mostly 5.00 to 10.00 lower. On a thin test a lower undertone was noted on slaughter billies. Slaughter wethers traded steady. Trading activity was good on good buyer demand. In the sheep supply, 54 percent were slaughter lambs, 10 percent feeder lambs, 32 percent slaughter ewes and bucks with the balance being replacement stock. The goat supply consisted of 60 percent slaughter kids, 25 percent slaughter nannies, 12 percent billies and wethers with the remaining balance being replacement nannies and families.
