Collins, CO Saturday, June 27, 2009 Monthly Hay Auction Total Tons Offered: 1390 Last Month: 700 Last Year: 1010 Compared to last month : All classes and bale sizes sold sharply lower due to quality. Majority of the lots offered had some type of moisture damage. Bulk of the hay was of the Utility and Fair qualities this month, due to late cutting or rain damage. Demand was very light, which is normal for this time a year. Recent rains have improved pasture conditions resulting in many buyers not seeking to purchase hay at this time. The next hay auction will be held on Saturday July 25, 2009.
