   Deliveries by growers to date have been very light, while 
interest in trading has increased. Some growers have delivered 
nuts to be tested and graded and are awaiting results and offers 
for sale. Accumulation buying points reported moderate offerings 
of yard trees, primarily that of Natives/Seedling and a few Improved 
varieties.  There is a wide range in the quality of nuts being 
offered for sale. Interest has been fairly strong for offerings of 
good quality nuts, but fairly light for poorer quality. Any offerings 
delivered at the door with indications of embryo rot, sprouting, mold 
and excessive moisture are being turned away with no offers for purchase.  
Demand is good with buying interest primarily from the giftpack sector 
looking for lots with fairly high quality and appropriate unit count.
Retail sales have been consistent. Interest has increased from other 
domestic areas this week, prompting growers and shellers to hold on to 
offerings until price quotes are established and deals complete. 

Prices paid to growers (from noon Tuesday, December 1, 2009 through 
late afternoon Thursday, December 3, 2009) at buyers delivery point or 
f.o.b. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per 
pound in-shell of generally good quality in lots of 20,000 pounds or 
less unless otherwise stated.
