BL_LS751 Billings, MT Thu May 16, 2013 USDA Market News Billings Livestock Commission - Billings, MT Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/16/13 Receipts: 4,658 Last Week: 1,740 Last Year: 2,278 Compared to last week: Stocker and Feeder cattle sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower on limited comparable sales. Feeding cows sold mostly steady in a light test. Slaughter cows and bulls sold fully steady. Demand moderate to good. Approximately, 48 percent stocker and feeder cattle; 4 percent feeding cows; 8 percent cow/calf pairs; 32 percent slaughter cows with the balance slaughter bulls and misc. cattle. In the feeder supply, steers made up 34 percent of the run; bulls 1 percent; heifers 65 percent; steers/bulls and heifers over 600 lbs totaled 50 percent. All bred stock sold by the head and pairs sold per pair, unless otherwise stated. All bred cows and heifers represented to calve before May 15th, unless otherwise stated.
