Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 07/08/2009
 
Receipts:  740    Two Weeks Ago:  725    Year Ago:  927
 
   Compared to two weeks ago:  Feeder cattle not well tested.  Demand moderate 
to good for all classes.  Feeding cows and cows returning to the country sold 
mostly steady to 1.00 higher.  Slaughter cows sold 1.00-4.00 higher with mostly 
Breaker cows at the higher end of the price spectrum.  Slaughter bulls sold 
1.00-2.00 higher with more liberal numbers.  Feeder cattle made up 5 percent of 
the run; 60 percent slaughter cows and bulls; 30 percent feeding cows and cows 
returning to the country with the balance feeding bulls and misc. cattle.  In 
the feeder supply, steers made up 100 percent of the run; 0 percent heifers with 
100 percent over 600 lbs. 

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1:  750 lbs 96.25; 910 lbs 85.00.
 
   Feeding Cows and cows returning to the country:  Medium and Large 1-2:  
Heifers 725-890 lbs 85.00-91.50; 2-3 yrs old 900-1100 lbs 61.00-75.50; Young 
1000-1250 lbs 54.00-61.00; Middle aged 1000-1350 lbs 49.00-54.00; Aged 1170-1235 
lbs 46.00-48.25.  Large 1:  few 1400-1480 lbs 48.50-51.00.

   Feeding Bulls:  Medium and Large 1:  1075-1155 lbs 68.50-74.25.
