BL_LS350 Billings, MT Mon Nov 16, 2009 USDA Market News Public Auction Yards - Sheep/Goat/Hog Report Weighted Average Report for 11/16/2009 Receipts: 3,186 Two Weeks Ago: 2,127 Year Ago: 2,666 Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder lambs under 80 lbs sold mostly steady to 4.00 lower; 80-100 lbs sold 5.00-10.00 higher; offerings over 100 lbs sold 5.00- 8.00 higher. Slaughter ewes sold mostly 5.00-15.00 higher. Slaughter buck sold fully steady to 6.00 higher. Slaughter and feeder goats sold 20.00-40.00 higher with limited comparable sales. Demand good for all classes with very active buyers participation. Feeder lambs made up 72 percent of the supply; 23 percent slaughter ewes and bucks; 3 percent slaughter and feeder goats with the balance replacement ewes plus misc. sheep/goats and hogs. All goat prices are on a per head basis unless noted. Next sheep/goat and hog sale is scheduled for Monday December 14, 2009.
