The second annual Mississippi Homeplace Producers feeder cattle board sale 
was held at Southeast Livestock Exchange in Hattiesburg, MS on Monday, August 
3rd.  The sale was held in cooperation with producers and agencies including 
the MS State University Extension Service, MS Cattlemen`s Association, MS 
Farm Bureau Federation, MS Department of Agriculture and the MS Beef Cattle 
Improvement Association.  There were 2939 head representing 38 load lots of 
cattle at this year`s sale.  Cattle were sold with primarily a 2 percent 
shrink unless noted on the report.  Cattle are pre-conditioned and will be 
weaned at least 45 days prior to shipping.  Steer prices quoted on the mixed 
lots, heifers sold 6 cents back of the steers.  Delivery dates listed after 
the prices.  

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1-2 9 loads 650-700 lbs 98.25-101.50 Aug 
17 thru Oct 31 del; 2 loads 835 lbs 96.50-96.75 Aug 5-28 del.

   Mixed Feeder Steers and Heifers:  Medium and Large 1-2 4 loads 575-625 lbs 
100.00-101.75 Sept 9 thru Oct 23 del; 19 loads 600-750 lbs 96.00-99.75 Aug 5 
thru Oct 31 del, 1 load 101.00, 1 load no shrink 95.00.
 
   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1-2 2 loads 600-620 lbs 94.50 Aug 25 
thru Oct 31 del.
